Record chase at LogiMAT 2023
In 2022, LogiMAT had already further established itself as a visitor magnet and place to be in terms of intralogistics and automation through mobile transport solutions, seamlessly continuing the success story of the past. In 2023, the trade fair topped all previous records with over 62,000 visitors over three days and more than 1,550 exhibitors from 39 countries. Especially on the first two days of the fair, the crowds were enormous and at times led to traffic chaos on the feeder roads to the fair and the airport. This is understandable, since more than 100 innovations had already been announced on the LogiMAT homepage in the run-up to the trade fair. This naturally aroused curiosity.
Welcome to SAFELOG World
Under the impression of last year’s experience, SAFELOG presented itself at LogiMAT 2023 with a completely new booth concept. At our 168 m² booth, we wanted to decouple visitors from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair and take them into our own SAFELOG microcosm. We therefore opted for a concept in which the stand area could only be entered via three entrance gates. This allowed us to direct the focus of our visitors to our exhibits and discussions took place in a quieter setting than is possible with an open booth concept. The idea was well received and visitors appreciated the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the hall for the duration of their stay at SAFELOG. From the outside, the two LED screens stretched across a corner were a real eye-catcher. In our SAFELOG World, we debuted two new models of our Mobile Transport Robots, the AGV X1 1200tt and the AGV L2. Other exhibits included the AGV S3, the AGV M4, the AGV X1 1500 and a pick-by-light installation.
SAFELOG at the Gladiators of Intralogistics
On the evening of the second day of the trade fair, the IWML (Irgendwas mit Logistik) and Logistics Summit teams organized a new after-show format at the Mash event location, which SAFELOG sponsored together with the TGW Logistics Group. In the “Gladiators of Intralogistics”, six companies competed against each other in a show pitch. The participants tried to convince the jury consisting of Dr. Kerstin Höfle (VP R&D and Product Management, Körber Supply Chain), Isabel Rocher (Director CN Commercial, Operations & Partner Care, Zalando SE), Rainer Buchmann (CEO stow robotics) and Steffen Bersch (CEO SSI Schäfer) for their company or to convince them of their solution. Following the short pitches, the gladiators answered questions from the judges and were then evaluated. After six entertaining pitches, the jury unanimously chose Theresa Gröninger from Cellumation as the winner.
Afterwards, the audience was invited to dance, celebrate, talk and network while music was played by Oli P..
Conclusion
LogiMAT 2023 was an impressive industry event at a high professional level. All three days of the event were characterized by intensive and informative discussions, which made it clear that the topics of automation and mobile transport robotics have arrived in many industries.
