Anlässlich des 20-jährigen Firmenjubiläums lud Inhaber Michael Wolter Mitarbeiter, Partner und Kunden zu einem Charity-Event mit gemeinsamer Schifffahrt auf den Starnberger See.

»20 years of SAFELOG – we have come a long way.« This was the theme for a charity event with a boat trip on Lake Starnberg to which owner Michael Wolter invited employees, partners and customers in October 2016. The event included a buffet and live music as well as a beautiful sunset against the backdrop of the Alps. The 140 guests on the MS Seehaupt included notable customers and our new cooperation partner META Regalbau. The charity “Kinderhaus AtemReich” was the recipient of the donations collected from the event. This project, based in Munich, provides children and teens, who need long-term artificial respiration, with a home and some degree of normality.

A wonderful 20 years

When the ship left the shore Prof. Dr.-Ing. W. A. Günthner from the fml TU München opened the entertaining evening with a lecture giving a perspective on the topic “Logistics 2020”. Then Mr Wolter looking back on the company’s development, gave the attendees entertaining insights into the company history beginning with the words: “We have had a wonderful 20 years.”

In the beginning the company maintained test facilities for a vehicle manufacturer. Other customers from the automobile industry followed and the first patent for pick-by-light for error-free commissioning laid the foundation for todays business. With the development of customised logistics solutions for the automotive industry as well as for other industries, with customers such as Apollo, Douglas or Gabor, Wolter’s experience with radar and coordinates technology was a great help and led to new patented solutions such as pick-by-beamer.

Highly competitive in the future

Now the innovative company has got another of its own developments off the ground: The SAFELOG AGV is a compact vehicle, with autonomous, agent-based navigation and self-sufficiently transports material, a so-called automated guided vehicle. As these vehicles can communicate with each other in intralogistical traffic they belong to the generation industry 4.0. The corresponding development of an android app was based on a joint research project with the Fraunhofer Institute and other well-known industry partners. In his speech Wolter said, “This is the future of our company. This development is extremely competitive both technically and in terms of price.”

The head of the company also took the opportunity to thank customers, suppliers, partners and above all the employees – everyone who had accompanied him on the path to success. Another highlight was the performance of the duo ‘Glasperlenspiel’. The two representatives from ‘AtemReich’ also had good reason to be happy: At the end of the event Wolter handed them a cheque for 7,500 euros in the name of the company and its customers.

The conclusion

The conclusion after 20 successful years: What began on a small scale is today an innovative, medium-sized company, which has developed rapidly especially in recent years. Currently the company employs a staff of 47 and we are looking for more new employees. Wolter has also recently appointed Mathias Behounek and Michael Reicheicher to the management board.
