Continuous growth over 25 years

The story of SAFELOG began in 1996 with the maintenance of test facilities in the automotive industry led by our owner and managing director Michael Wolter. At that time, we were already intensively focused on in-house processes and acquired extensive knowledge and expertise.

Since then, SAFELOG has been characterized by the determination to provide our customers with new approaches to intralogistics and to offer tailor-made solutions. This attitude was the basis for the patents on pick monitoring or pick-by-beamer as well as the design of our agent-based AGVs. Our desire for innovation continues unabated and is driven by the continuous development of our software solutions.

Timeline SAFELOG company history

SAFELOG – Innovative integrated intralogistics

SAFELOG has been an incredible success story over the past 25 years: Innovative and patented solutions to prevent errors in the picking process, the development of its own AGV product family, and a healthy measure of risk-taking when investing in the development of new technologies have been the basis for continuous and sustainable growth – looked at from a business perspective.

However, the truth is that there is much more to it than growth figures alone might show. We have grown from a small company into a medium-sized, globally active hidden champion with more than 190 employees. Our team consists of a good mix of new and long-standing employees, so we are never tempted to simply rely on what has gone before. Fresh ideas, innovative thinking and interdisciplinary approaches to hardware and software solutions are what help create the positive atmosphere at SAFELOG. We have found that pragmatic considerations and unconventional approaches are often the most effective way to solve problems. That is why we never take a blinkered or rigid approach when we start a project for picking systems or automated guided vehicles. It is important for us that we work together openly and honestly and treat each other with respect to achieve our common goals. This diversity of people, ideas and opinions drives us to come up with sustainable solutions and to look for new ways to avoid picking errors and to master transport tasks with AGVs each and every day.

“We attach great importance to open and honest cooperation both within the company and with our customers and partners. SAFELOG stands for diversity and tolerance in every respect. Because successful and enjoyable teamwork is only possible with a diverse mix of people, ideas, views and opinions.”

Michael Reicheicher, MD SAFELOG

“We encourage our employees and customers to think and act outside the box. The courage to pursue unconventional and pragmatic ideas and approaches has helped us achieve many good solutions in the past. We communicate with each other honestly and respectfully, as this is the best way to achieve our goals as a team and as a partner to our customers.”

Mathias Behounek, MD SAFELOG

“We encourage our employees and customers to think and act outside the box. The courage to pursue unconventional and pragmatic ideas and approaches has helped us achieve many good solutions in the past. We communicate with each other honestly and respectfully, as this is the best way to achieve our goals as a team and as a partner to our customers.”

Mathias Behounek, MD SAFELOG

“From the very beginning, our company has been characterized by the constant pursuit of improvement and the identification of innovative potential. We rely on the passion and expertise of our employees, as they are the driving force behind progress. This has allowed us to achieve sustainable growth and expand our portfolio of mobile transport robots over the past 25 years.”

NAiSE GmbH

NAiSE GmbH was founded in March 2017 as a spin-off from the University of Stuttgart. The Stuttgart-based start-up wants to make chaotic mixed operations in intralogistics more efficient and safer. Up to now, hectic and chaotic transport flows have been common in warehouses and production halls, as the flexibility that is required does not allow for fixed rules such as exist for road traffic. This leads to congestion and accidents, which affects the entire flow of goods and company productivity. Fleet managers are solving the problem for mobile transport robots, but the other participants are not taken into account.

This is where NAiSE comes in: Through the patented sensor network (NAiSE RTLS), all intralogistics participants are networked with each other to enable conflict-free transport in warehouses and production facilities. This improves the efficiency of the flow of goods and productivity.
